4 week olds TINY. Lost 2 chicks in 48hrs to ????

Thank you everyone for your help and thankyou especially Nuts4Chicks for turning my nose to the feed. After changing their brooder and sterilising their water jar and feeder I thought I would go buy another bag of feed in case mine was bad. My heart broke when I read that it was only scratch. The idiotic sales kid had handed me scratch when I had asked for starter feed. I was juggling my 3 kids - 5 and under and I had a lot of stuff at the register. I failed to check the bag. I feel sick that I was responsible for these little lives and let them down so terribly. I never considered the feed was the problem but thought it was something beyond my doing.
My survivors have been guzzling down boiled egg and they now have some real food. Hopefully they will be ok.

Awww I totally understand the whole trying to check out at the feed store with little ones distracting you. We all make oversights. I once sent my 6 year old to school with a whole frozen chicken for lunch and all we had was a ham sandwich and chips for dinner! Anyway...at least now you know what the problem is and that's a really easy one to fix. They should perk up and start growing like crazy! Might want to add some vitamins or nutri drench to the water to help get their vitamin stores back in line. Good luck and glad you figured it out!

no one anwered the Q about the ACV, no the heinz won't work. It has to be the stuff that says Mother...... it has sedimant on the bottom. I get mine from a natural foods store. I think its organic.
