4 weeks old & starting on crumble?

Can I change my 4 week old chicks' food from mash to crumble? They waste so much of the mash I hate it - they seem to peck around for the bigger pieces and leave the dust there. I did start them on crumble yesterday, but I want to make sure I'm not starving them. Mom is free ranging with them all day, so I'm sure they're getting a lot of bugs, but it probably wears her out, so I want to be sure I'm giving them enough food. I'm assuming they can eat the crumble just fine?

Yes. I skip mash and only use crumbles.

I have been using the crumbles too. The feed store where I got them from said it was fine to use.
