(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

My favorite aspect is being surrounded by a flock of birds that kind of know me. Something about providing the best possible home for them, knowing their lives are very short compared to mine, but the time we spend together will never be lost.

I care for the sick and the blind, and they bring the most special relationship because they are truly special animals that would not be able to survive alone, and that makes them very special and unique.

:welcome

Hi, chicken tv is a fun show to watch. The eggs are a side benefit :)
So much this :D Ours all have their own personalities and many have earned very telling names! We currently have a trio of long-legged blonde-white leghorn pullets that are flighty, stupid, and cute. They'll grow brains when they're older but for now we call them the Bimbo Squad!
BeckyTheLoon is our silkie and she may well adopt the 2 week old ameraucanas. Very broody but you do not mess with Becky...she will fight anything any time if it goes after her and will NOT back down. Few things are funnier than seeing a Sussex, EE, etc. running away from an angry fluffball.
Crow is my chatterbox. She and both olive eggers will follow me everywhere chatting. Chicken Little is our Jersey Giant. She's trying to figure out where she fits in the flock as our youngest. Not terribly bright, she picks fights with Dart, our second-smallest bird (Ayam Cemani), who is much like BeckyTheLoon and will kick her ass every. single. time.
Chicken TV is the best.
