This morning I noticed one of my leghorn chicks picking at a wet spot on her shoulder, needless to say there is a hole and just a bloody mess. So right now she is separated form the others with food and water. This morning I rubbed antibiotic ointment all over the area, and went and got some blue kote and have sprayed her down pretty good (on a side note I have a lovely overspray pattern on both hands that apparently will not come off). She is moving all parts well, and eating and drinking and she's even roosting on top of the food.
A couple of questions: Will that make her quit picking at herself?
How long should I keep her separated?
Will she be Ok for a couple of days by herself?
Thanks for your help!!
