We have a Cornish X chick that can't seem to walk properly, but cannot stand. We have never seen this before. Her leg has a dark discoloration on the upper leg, and it kind of looks red and discoloured where the feathers meet the leg. She is eating and drinking, but seems requires quite a bit of effort to move around.
We have scoured this forum, but nobody else seems to have had this particular problem before.
Any help or guidance would be most helpful!
Here is a bit more info:
it's not splayed leg or bumble foot (Can it be bumble leg?)
She has no other sign of disease (that we can see)
She is drinking and eating.
When she stands, it looks like she is using her opposite wing for balance and support as she seems to droop it downward.
Yes, she is a meat hen, but I still don't want to suffer unduly.
