4 YEAR OLD ROOSTER NOT ACTIVE

we are using this dewormer for a few days now (picture) ZYFEND.jpg

Still can't feel his crop.
He is eating some burger and some of his food
I will be taking his poo to get analyzed for the Coccidiosis (vet charges $20 for that) is there a kit one can buy to do it here?

a recent pic of his poo from a few moments ago, any opinions ? DSCN9889.JPG

It's counterproductive to use a wormer at the same time you hope to collect a stool sample for testing. You could come up with a false negative result and it would be a waste of money. So, forget the stool test for now of you've been giving a worming medicine.

The poop really doesn't hint of coccidiosis. It does signal a health issue.

Have you checked his crop in the morning before he eats to see if it's emptying completely overnight as it should? He could have a partial blockage or a yeast condition, either of which should be treated as they would interfere with his appetite and wellness.

Crop issues need to be ruled out before anything else. If his crop is normal, he could have a bacterial infection which could require an antibiotic to treat. Or he could have tumors from a virus.

Zyfend A really is not a dewormer, so if he has an active infestation, it would be best to treat him for worms with an anthelmintic - have your vet do the fecal float.

DSCN9895.JPG hello again... so it has not made much improvement.

solid food after a few hours he will throw up.. crop can't feel it at all
I have been feeding him liquid diet (beef stock- home made) tetroxy 25 antibiotics that the only vet i know gave me (but since she doesn't really do birds---well i am stuck! ) and i monitor him all the time (fortunately for me I have a business from home)
found a vet in NC and spoke with them but they will not give me any advice unless they see him. and Here in Wisconsin can't find anyone Avian vet who does it..
If any one knows why he is trowing up, please, please tell me what it could be...because i am :he

Is he pooping at all? If so, is it tiny hard turds? Or is he pooping watery white liquid?

thank you so much for your response !! I have taking pictures .. the day after the first antibiotics he poop dark black liquidy but most of the times that white liquidy minicooco white poo.jpeg and today just a couple of hours ago did it again (the blackone) see picts DSCN9898.JPG and today DSCN9904.JPG

He could have an infection in his intestines or he could have tumors. I'm sorry that I can't nail down a diagnosis for you. I understand how frustrating this has got to be.

There's a good chance the dark watery poop is from the beef stock. The white poop is typical of a chicken fighting a bacterial infection. Green chunks can appear in the poop from pooping out bile. This just means he isn't eating enough solid food.

If he were mine, I would continue the antibiotic. If he continues to decline, I would suspect tumors.

Were you able to get a fecal test for coccidiosis and worms?

no test as i have given him the dewormer...

he wighs only 4.4 pounds today, how much antibiotics per day do you think (disolved in water) and i have to give it to him with a droper..

and, the bacterial infection could be from the bumble foot,, i am thinking..

Bumblefoot has to be pretty serious to cause systemic infection. Usually there is outward signs of deformity from feet swollen and oozing with pus. Most bumblefoot remains isolated in the foot and doesn't go into the bones until the chicken has suffered for quite a long time and it's progressively gotten worse.

I am not familiar with the antibiotic you mentioned. I am skeptical of antibiotics mixed into water. I don't believe it's possible to get enough of it into the chicken to do any real good.

I generally use amoxicillin or penicillin. A good many of us use these fish meds for our chickens. https://pet-healthcare.revivalanimal.com/search?p=Q&ts=custom&w=fish antibiotics

:hit:hit
this is so that everyone knows (in case is not known) my love and best friend of all my life died because i could not get help sooner from vets

he woke up with both eyes closed, gave him water with a droper and after last night in speaking with the only vet I know she agreed to see him and this morning in an emergency run (40 minutes drive) the vet did some injections to hydrate him and afeter a few tests we found out that is highly possible that it was a type of louse that bites.
But even that i have not seen many on him they were still there.

i can only wish that any vet any place in any state would also see these lovely species that are so friendly and a great companion for us humans.

He did not want to die, i can tell by the look on his eyes and i feel so terrible not knowing what to do :hit
