Hello all,

Well, I finally got the motivation to take my first pics of all my flock. I'm not that great at moving subjects. I'm not sure where the pics are here, but the site mentioned something about them uploaded to the sponsor page? I'm also new to online socializing. I'm much more comfortable with the old block party settings in the suburbs. As you can see (if you come across the pics), I have a variety of breeds. And they have attracted quite a variety of friends. I started with a fox, a falcon in the coop that I had just finished to keep my birds safe. Boy, did that work out well. Then we had the coyotes who took out 8 of our newest members last fall. Now we have a couple rabbits, a groundhog, and a flock of crows. I started about 4 years ago and let them free range on my little acre. But, between the predators and the neighbors complaining when my girls went visiting. So, now, I have them fenced in in my front yard. Well, what used to be my front yard. This summer, I decided to take the next step and start raising my own hens from scratch (no pun intended). Apparently, I have enough roosters for the task. My wife, Sue, went a little crazy this winter and bought 20 new chicks from Tractor Supply. We ended up selling about half of those. Big mistake was getting rid of all the Rock hens, unknowingly, and ending up with 2 Rock roosters.

Any advice would be greatly welcomed. Breeding, incubating, diet, retiring, etc
