My personal opinion...I like the Splash with no copper. Just saying.

Agreed, the ground colour can look scruffy to me if not contrasted with blue or black.

Went back and took a look at the ladies.
Need more pics but this one is gorgeous, stunning copper, lovely eyes, comb looks very tidy so far and rear view of tail is nice. She seems to carry herself well, everything perfectly in its place.

How many and how old again?

Is this ghost barring I'm seeing? Her tail is kind of messy, not as tidy as the BCM pullet above, but she's young still. She's pretty none the less.

This could be barring. She's very flighty, and her tail I agree so I might end up having to do a cuckoo pen now. I'll try and get some more pics today when I get a second. It's good weather and need to do some cleaning.

A couple years ago when I had my OG hens who have minimal to no copper with King I was producing the same except for one F1. I didn't start getting nice hackles til I moved them to Kong who has chest leakage... That was the fix.

Yeah I'm offloading some hens this weekend.

Downsizing my EE's + A few BCM's that aren't up to my standard. (Yellow Legs/No Feathers/Tail Bad etc.).

Slowly downsizing before winter.

I'll share my barn design when it gets closer to build time etc.

So far it will have 4 stalls, and I'm keeping my OG coop. I do need to figure out what to do as I have a 6 month goose coming in the next month to replace one of the girls I lost.
