Like someone said, everybody has a cell. How come he doesn't have a video on YouTube about how horrible he is?

very true very true...

You are only responsible for your actions... this teacher is responsible for theirs.

You hint that it would be unfair of you to be held accountable for saying a mean thing, and in the same post complain that this teacher is doing the same. One of those do as I say not as I do things... those always drove me nuts as a kid and still do. So, if you want this teacher held accountable you need to accept in advance that you will be as well.

That said, talk to your parents, admit 100% what you've said, and what the teacher has said. Same goes if/when you speak to a counselor, principal, etc. If you lie, even by omission, about your actions then no one will believe you when you talk about the teacher's.

Talk to fellow students. See which are willing to come forward to talk, give your parents and anyone else you talk to those names. Don't drag in kids who don't want to be involved, that's likely to backfire. They could easily take the teacher's side, even if it's a lie, just to get out of the situation and get the teacher liking them... most especially to separate them from YOU, the troublemaker. So stick to the kids who have heard these things, and are WILLING to talk about it. Have those names ready for verification when you talk. And as others said, tape wouldn't hurt either.

In the meantime, as others said, keep up on your work and be on your best behavior so that it won't be seen as a retaliation type thing.

I think it's good for young people to learn how to get along with different kinds of people. Including difficult people. Including difficult teachers.

Maybe this teacher made a rude remark, well who hasn't made a rude remark at some point. Everyone gets tired, sick, frazzled sometimes.

Besides, if she's your spelling teacher, you REALLY need her in your life.

I would also like to hear the teacher's side of the story, since you freely admit that "I try to behave but sometimes words slide." And as welsummerchicks said, if you are dealing with a spelling/English teacher it would behoove you to sit up and pay attention in a respectful manner.

Patience, Grasshopper, you have much to learn.

I would learn to deal with this person, because it sure isn't gonna be the last nasty person you ever have in a position of authority over you.

most every teacher I know does the 'thankless' job b.c they sincerely love children. That being said.... they are only human and do make mistakes--- as do you.

more will be achieved if all of the people involved will cooperate.

I dont care how tired you are a teacher should NEVER Say "You are to dumb" or "your to stupid" or any thing to that affect! I had a teacher like that at the school I went to when I was in highschool and he was very rude, treated all the kids like crap if they didnt understand something right off the bat and you know what, between my Mom, brother and my self we got him kicked out of the school. None of the other students would stand up to him but I would. That said I stood up to him but was always respectufully (why i never got in trouble when we disagreed, plus there were other classes in the same room so it wasnt a he said she said match, other teachers saw the arguements) and was not rude to him.

If I was you talk to your parants tell them what happened. If this has been on ongoing problum maby your parants will want to go talk to the School board about this. I dont care how upset a teacher is they should NEVER tell a student they are Dumb or stupid!

But again YOU are responcible for your actions, you can stand up to a teacher and be respectfull. Next time dont say any thing, talk to the other students and ahve them tell there parants about it and you tell yours. If the teacher is that degrading to students then it sounds to me like its time the students parants confront this teacher. I saw kids in my class that went to the way side because of teachers who "picked favorites" and those kids were treated like dirt no matter how hard they tried.

Most teachers love their jobs-----however some are just there for the paycheck.

Any snide remard made to a "paycheck teacher" is only going to get you in trouble - not her - it's her classroom.

If my kids had a teacher like that I would have them moved to another class. If the school refused I would pull my kids out of that school.
