I agree it looks "porcelain" which would be a lavender bred to a buff, and then the offspring bred back to a lavender if that makes sense. The color is very pretty!

Depending on the age it could go either way but I think it is a cockeral. The direction of the crest is what makes me think so. I also swear I see hackle feathers forming. In my experience the streamers come later around a year. He looks a bit younger than that to me. But

It definitely looks like a roo to me. Notice the slicked back hair and long legs. Here is a comparison of my 2:

Of course, mine are considerable younger than yours but if you have any other silkies for comparison, look for the size of feet, personality and the angle of the tail. He's very pretty though

That's what I was thinking! With the high demand, maybe the seller could luck out and gets some nice paints for cheap.
