48 hrs after first pip. Should I intervene?

Same here. I may remove the egg shells when I take the little ones out, but any further cleaning waits until everyone's done.

It sounds like the little one is doing o.k. Finding her feet so to speak

They are a bit clumsy and unsure on their feet after hatching, getting used to the freedom of movement and recovering from the hard work that is hatching! Give her a day or two and she'll be scooting all over the place.

Please keep us posted on her progress and the remainder of the hatch?

Thank you for the help! This is my first and I really did not want to intervene but could not just let it go. It is peeping and head bobbing with an occasional scoot forward and lift of its head. I will wait for the gunk to separate and if it does not by this afternoon I'll do what I can to minimize it.
The other issue I'm concerned about is cleanliness- The water in the incubators trap is yellowish and I'm afraid of bacteria growing in the prime environment. But as you know, the moment I open that incubator the humidity drops fast! There are also two eggs in there that are pipping.
How do you clean between hatches?

Yes, the humidity does drop quickly and this can have negative affect on other hatching eggs. No, only after all hatching is done. We do recommend having a separate hatcher. Depending on the type incubator/hatcher you have, you may be able to put down a paper towel under the hatching eggs. It will catch a lot of that "egg gunk" and make it easier to clean and sanitize.

Hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy your ducks.
