Saw a Turkey go for $45 at auction today. Wonder how much profit the made??? Anyways WOW!

Thats the average price of a 1 year old herritage around my parts. Really not much or no profit at all.
 
Probably made no profit. LOL

I brought and raised two broad breasted bronze turkeys for thanksgiving. The two birds in FEED ALONE cost over 150. Wasn't even organic... LOL
 
I never let my adult turkeys go for less than $150. at a sale. If the market for them is not good that day they go home until the auction brings in the buyers. I have only needed to bring them home one time.
 
Just sold a Midget White tom in his second breeding season for $50. That wasn't even feed cost, but he was becoming aggressive and had done his duty for the year.

Hard to get your money out of a turkey once they have reached full maturity unless you've got a source of cheap feed.
