4H projects

I completed ten years in regular 4H and one as a mini 4Her. I absolutely loved it. Cried during my last year during my 10 year ride for horses.

I was in Foods (4 years), Recycling (4 years), Arts & Crafts (can't remember if that's what it's really called, was only in it for 2 years), Veterinary Science (only one year), Rabbits (ten years), Poultry (nine years), and Horse & Pony (ten years). Great experience!

You should do horseless horse!!!

Ive been in 4-H for 7 years. Right now Im in
Waterfowl
Poultry
Rabbit
Foods
Craft
Market turkey
And junior leader

I DO NOT suggest doing all of them at the same time but they are all great projects
Im planning on doing a 'ornimental fowl' project next year too, but that will be a self deterimed project

hahaha maybe!!@

I know in Indiana you can be in Horse & Pony and not have horses. I'm not sure how though to be honest, maybe by doing a poster?

My son usually does three projects a year. He's done shooting sports every year that he's been in it, although most of this year is taken up with trapshooting on our own time. It still counts though. And he's in poultry and photography this year too. Maybe he'll do a large animal next year, he can show one large and one set of small (poultry) in the same year at our fair. He likes it a lot.

There is Horse project and Non Horse project where I live. The Horse project you ride; walk, trot, canter, etc. Non horse is the learning of caring for the horse.
There was a little girl I knew who rode a mule, Yes I said mule, and won many times with him. I always laughed when that mule would brey (sp?) in the middle of the awards.

As you can see, there are many different areas of interests in 4-H. My kids did 4-H and really enjoyed it. They did multiple things from raisong/caring for livestock (rabbits and Llamas), baking, artwork and vegetables. Keep us posted on what you do with your county!
