4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Also, I have a question with humidity. I had eggs shipped to me in which some were set when they were 12 days old and I also set eggs that were only 1 - 2 days old from the nieghbor. The shipped eggs have huge air sacs because they are older and probably delt with low humidity conditions during shipping. My neighbor's eggs air sacs are smaller since they were in the incuabtor almost right away. Does anyone have an idea for compromise between the 2 for correct humidity levels?
I just had the same issue, but I still did dry hatch but NOT under 30% humid and had a wonderful hatch rate considering all were shipped!! even at last candle the cells were different but the smaller air cells actually took a day or two longer thats all! fingers crossed for you!!

HATCH UPDATE:
Everyone hatched cept those 2
(AND the day 10 inferts, aircell screw ups I pulled oh and all mine as my Roo isnt doing his job! but he is young yet!)....

Quote: LOL its always in my link!! we had YET ANOTHER great hatch!!!

btw the only thing I am changing is I want to cover the fan with wire to protect larger birds like my duckies when they hatch as they are taller, at least I am assuming! lol I would hate to hatch them and be devestated at that outcome!! uggg!!

Ok, who here has watched Sally's video of how to make the cooler bator? My DH and I just watched it. Wow my DH says, he and I are alike..(he loves tools, electric tools, hand tools, glue, wood...you know..the etc. thing.) He says, I could do that! I know he could. :) Now, let's see how long he gets around to it. Might be a great winter project out in his shop.
Thanks for sharing Sally!
crud I answered in the wrong comment... oh well I am sure you will see it!

We have had another great hatch in it!! YAY

Adding wire at fan for ducking hatch though!! only changes!

I actually got a great hatch from serama eggs. 7 eggs shipped, an extra day in the mail with freezing temps and a crushed box, and I hatched out 7 baby seramas. :D Now, I find it funny, because I remember a few years back a buddy of mine wouldn't let me buy any serama eggs since they were too difficult to hatch. It just makes me smile. :) And, three of them are feather legged. :D I still have two ducklings working around in the bator. I'm going to have to be careful with duck eggs from now on... Make sure that I don't have anything hatching for three days before the duck eggs are due, since these last two were shrink wrapped in their eggs because of being pipped for so long and having me in and out for serama chicks.

ok ya all..... not sure how much I will be on today and tomorrow... lots to do, no kids to babysit.... Its cookie day!!!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY YA ALL!!! and I am sure I wont be able to play catch up so KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK RON!
