It is official... I quit with ducks. We lost our drake last night. With all of the problems we have been having with them I think it is time to give up.

We got two chicken-related games for Christmas. We were sitting at the table playing them, and my DS shakes his head and says.... "We're crazy chicken people."

We found him in the bush dead. His head is up and his eyes open. He is still there because I am too freaked out to touch him. I am not the type to believe in ghosts or that silly stuff but this creeps me out.

In better news we put an offer in on the house and they accepted. We are getting it for about half the value. We already decided that the ducks would be penned completely to avoid starvation or other strange deaths. I will probably move away from pekins though.

I just found out that my friend's boss has emu, and he's willing to give me an egg if he can collect them before they freeze. That would be the ultimate hatch!

All the presents have been opened. The only ones that got anything for Christmas were my nieces, but I get my present by getting to help set everything up. Been helping the oldest paint her birdhouse after I put it together and I think next is the easy bake oven. That's if the youngest doesn't drag me to the table to help her color the wooden butterfly she got.

It's almost been a great morning. The only thing that went wrong was this morning when I was feeding the chicks. The one game got out and ran into the garage. We haven't seen it since then, but it's been raining for the better part of the morning. We'll find it and I'll have learned a lesson, if not I'll just be out what will likely turn out to be a roo.
