4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Blarney, here is my Missy... Loves the snow too..I love the kind of dog you have..they are even bigger than goldens!

She's in the deep part, the others on the path, they are too
short for the deep stuff, and besides, don't care for it as much
as Missy.

She was trying wriggle away, getting big by Christmas.
Yes, she is pure. I've never seen one with the white, but it
can happen, especially since they started breeding the whites.
Papers yes, do I ever send in papers for my pure bred dogs. No.
We don't mind, she was the only one in the litter with the white,
we think it's cute.

Proof, of a Missy dog.

I put my eggs in lockdown a little early and then had to go on some errands. But here is my picture!

I tried candling, but it's daylight right now, and all I could see was the air sack, LOL. But that's good, they're growing! Last night they were moving, so I feel good about this. Got the temp at 99.2 ATM and humidity is at 61%. I added hot water because the switch would take me a bit of time with the lid open, so I wanted to bring the temp up fast. The humidity went all the way up to 77% so I had a bit of a panic attack, but glad I just gave it time, it's warmed up in the incubator and dried off now, LOL All looks good!

Missy is a beautiful dog! I hope we can get a golden one of these days! Very good dogs, every one I've met!

cluck-cluck..on the pic of the Eagles, and watching them, I watch them from a cam that Dechora Eagles puts out every year for the country to watch. You should watch this year. It's fun to watch them lay, weather the storms, hatch, feed, shoot poop over the edge of the nest..smart babies...grow up, fledge, then fly off. Look it up on here, you will see a lot of pictures and video, they are fun.

Your eggs look so snuggled in for the hatch. Nice. :)

Quote: I would ask him why he is getting rid of it. Plus make sure it is nice around you small dog, they tend to be dog aggressive if not introduced to other dogs. I know a lot of people who get rid of them, there are tons of sad stories. My girl was 4 1/2 months old when I got her. The one thing they do is BARK a lot, Zoe likes to chase my turkeys, but she is still young (9 months), she is a quick learner and is learning that I am the one she comes to, evidentually I want be at my side only. They are constant THINKERS, if you give a command they look at you and you can see their minds working, if there isn't anything in it for them, they will think through it look at you and run in the other direction. Do the reading on them. I did a lot of research. I have two acres and have her on a lead for now, we have a busy street and have had to run after her, her recall is still in the puppy stages. Make sure it has been around kids, if you have some. Once again find out WHY after 7 years they want to part with it.

18 set, 11 into lockdown. 4 clears, 3 quitters...not too bad for the very first eggs coming out of the molt and enduring a couple early on incubator hiccups. :)

Going to try this batch hatching upright, for grins. See how they do.

So my numbers going into lockdown:
6 of 10 IB
5 of 8 EE

I've gone into lockdown; 31 eggs out of 42. I am using two hatchers, one for my purebreds and one for the olive eggers, F1's and F2's.
Temperatures are 99.3 and 99.7 at this point in time. Humidity is 56% and 74%. I have had two hydrometers in for the whole incubation session and one has been consistently lower from the other, between 4 and 10 degrees. I am averaging them out and hoping for the best.
