I put my 7 eggs in lockdown yesterday. I am pretty sure that only a couple will hatch. Started with 48 eggs so not a good hatch. All but 1 egg was shipped and that 1 egg did not develop.
so sorry, hope your eggs that on the way now give you a better hatch!

Pay no attention when I post about hatches already...our Khaki Campbells are known to come early. Just a fact of lie around here and we expect it. I dont ever really check the chicken eggs.... unless its a rare breed otherwise what ever hatches hatches. I am neurotic about the geese though and they get daily attention through incubation. (also why we have a 98% hatch rate with our geese lol)

You sound like you have the same luck with shipped eggs as I do. I won't be hatching shipped eggs again until my girls go broody in the spring, they always hatch nearly all I give them.

That's why I am on your waiting list for Sebastopols.

will be handling all the females not laying yet and checking them to see how far out we are on them laying. Our American girl is about 2 maybe 3 weeks out after checking her this morning. Gives me hope on the sebbie girls the same age

Thanks so much. I ll have to find some silkie eggs to try for that one. My hens did pretty good this year and I had almost 50 barred rocks hatched. Thankfully I had friends just getting started so I was glad to help them with free chicks
