4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

301 post in the matter of a couple of hours! I am guessing that means a lot of people have hatching action!! I have 3 of my basques HATCHED, one more pipping and one icelandic pipping!.. all these eggs hatching so early! I keep my temp. btwn 99.5-100.5 because my last hatch my temp was too low, so i am guessing the higher temp contributed to the early hatching!

Quote: I came back here I was getting a headache, and my dinner was getting cold and I reheated it 5 times. Every time you reply you are 5 pages behind. CPL has lost her mind there are 45 members and 15 guests it is crazy over there. They might miss the last prize here.

Thought I'd update on my brooder cabinet. Slight change in plans ... decided I wanted shelves at the top enabling me to use another section of cabinetry that we were otherwise going to take to the reuse it shed. It had a door and a panel and then an open spot where it had once connected with another cabinet. I took the entire front off to make shelves, but will replace the edge trim.

Here is the upper portion with and without the doors. I will re-edge it with trim and paint. I kinda liked the shelf liner but it was too scuzzy to keep.

Then we were deciding what to do for the counter and I remembered we had an old table in the greenhouse so we decided to use part of the table top (the rest I will make into a bench for the front entrance at some point). The front section will be hinged. We had to cut down a bit off each edge and lost the rounded corners, but I will redo them.

Now you can get an idea what the finished product will look like ... imagine wire framed doors on the base and some decorative trim around the top. And the only thing we've bought for it so far are 5 1x3 boards!
