4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Just got home from work, got my first Iowa Blue zipping and another just beginning to zip. 3 Bantam Lavender Ameraucana x Iowa Blue chicks out and fluffing up as well!

Gotta go back and read from page 650 or so. Eek.

Went to see the emergency... Kids had to do barn chores...

Pretty sure I'm not winning the first chick out after midnight contest...

This is our lonely only chick, cheering on the one other sort of hatching egg. The chick keeps chirping, but doesn't get any replies!

This is the junk in the bottom of the egg.
Looks like he might have pooped? Tis hard work ya know?

Took me a while to understand the picture! LOL. Cool!

First 3 baby "Kevins" out of the egg - Lavender Bantam Ameraucana x Iowa Blue chicks. So teeny and cute.
(My boys call all chicks "Baby Kevins" as the first chick they remember was named Kevin.)

I see this often in my hatched eggs..not all of them, but many...very normal. Not poop, left over egg...
