4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

This is the one in Columbus. The largest show in the US.
The one in Eaton is much smaller, but also closer. It is Saturday and Sunday.
So were NOT going I guess.

I am. I did find out that it is easier to bath a chicken than a dog, and they love to be dried with a hair drier. Oh and they love it in the basement even though I stuck them in smaller cages then their coop. They actually look like they just moved in.

Maybe I'll wash a chicken this weekend. Just for practice... lol!

I was surprised how easy it was. Just be sure to have everything ready and use warm water (like you would for a baby) Mine just seemed to fall asleep in the warm water..

I can NOT believe that I'm missing this show! I have everyone tested (that's the hardest part for me), hotel reserved, calendar marked....and then, an unavoidable conflict in the schedule. Reservations cancelled. waaaahh! I was NOT looking forward to the drive, nor the washing of the chickens (large fowl can be a bit tough). But I wanted to bring my Black Orpington Cockerel, he got Best of Breed a few weeks ago at the Sussex show, and I of course wanted to meet all the awesome BYCers out there in 'the middle'.

I'm envious, but wish you all good luck! Happy Chicken washing!! And please take and post pics!
