4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

none of my eggs hatched. not even a pip, i doesnt help that the heat broke in our house and was out all day on the 20th and 21st.:he
i was hoping to still get at least one or to bitties:fl but i didnt get anything:( .
im hoping my other eggs id set before the heat went out might make it but i dont know.:fl

So sorry to hear that.:(

Keeping my fingers crossed for your other eggs.

Got four pips now lots of chirping. But the one with the pip pn the side isn't moving or anything.

Just lost the little one I thought was so strong... And one started to really slow down its breathing so I took it into the steamed up bathroom to try to,give it more room to breath, but it was too late... I put it back in the incubator because I could still feel the faintest heartbeat, but I can't get it to breathe.... So now I've lost 7, going on 8... I hate this part...
I have to go back to work tomorrow, so I REALLY need to sleep, but I don't want to leave them... There are still 7 chicks in the bator, struggling to hold on... Not that it makes a difference if I help them.... They're dying anyway.

Oh no! Hoping your other little ones will hold on.

Ikr? Ugh. There is so much chirping and rattling they o cant even go to sleep. Not to mention im EXCITED
LOL. Cant wait

I keep going to look, but the due date isn't even until Fri. So, guessing mine will hatch tonight, or early morning. The larger eggs will probably hatch later Fri. I am glad this little one is hatching sooner. It can get stronger to hold up to the bigger guys. :P It's a Nankin. I'm excited too, haven't hatched a Nankin in a long time. They are pretty small. Well, have to take another peek. :)

Does anyone know where we are supposed to post what we had hatch? I can't find a link to the spreadsheet to put my 1 lonely little hatchling

Bad news / Good news

Bad news - Egg E died
Was very odd b/c I had switched out the hot wet paper towel tents 20 mins earlier and thought all 3 were still acting robust, good strong peeps when I moved them.
Then 20 min. later I heard that high pitched distress peep chicks make, reached in to move the paper towel a little so I could view E, saw an exhail & beak drooped but I just thought sleeping,
I picked it up to see and realized there was no in breath, it had simply died right then. I pulled the shell off - ALL the yolk was absorbed, no sign of it at all, & looked like basically all the vein blood also. Now here is the odd thing I've never heard about - when I flipped the dead chick out of the shell, a tiny drop of GREEN "poop" exited its butt, does green mean infection? it did not smell at all.

Egg B is pushing out of the little bit of shell & membrane & towel tent - it is pretty weak, no were near able to stand.

Egg W is still breathing, but not even trying to exit ...

GOOD NEWS - Egg L (a dark maran x maran) made a faint peep - this egg was 4 inches from the egg that was 103.4 degrees right b/f the bator falling incident.
& I'm doing nothing but watching to see if it will pip externally on its own sometime in the next 24-36...
