nothing like those "popcorn eggs" they pop right into the incubator behind your back, then 20ish days later they pop right open and out comes a chick, imagine that ;> I've had that happen to me just yesterday (incubator has 11 chicken & 7 duck eggs popped right in!)Woohoo! The egg that mysteriously ended up in the incubator halfway through the new years hatch is now on day 20!. It keeps ending up in slightly different positions in the incubator throughout the day too, so I'm thinking he's wiggling when we arent looking.
I have a little litterbox I keep in the brooder. Their food and water is in there. It helps contain the wet mucky stuff to that area at least, and the rest of the brooder stays somewhat clean and dry. Some people make a little box with wire on top and put their water over it. I think all you can do is hope to contain the mess to one area, lol.THANK YOU!! Julie how do you keep a duck brooder clean? I am doing something so very wrong.... MESS
PETA = Go suck a grenade. People like that aren't contributing to humanity so yeah they can just go now.
Yes I was 10 pages behind, but it still needed to be said. lol
pictures?Well, got through the hatch a long..now I have 6 more chicks hatched from another set 4 days later. I had 6 pure RIR's go into lock down. 6 made it! Out of 10 that I started with. I love still air bators. I always have better luck with those..hand turned.
