sally...I didn't have problems with the chicks having spradled leg this time, but, with two of them, their foot turned in..and after all day, they hadn't corrected themselves. So, one chick had a boot on the left foot, and the other had a boot on the right foot. Not sure you're interested in the foot part, but here is a picture of them in boots. I use electrical tape. Soo easy to use this stuff! It goes on quick, and, comes off easy. I know how it sounds, but really, it is great. Took the little boots off this morning, the feet looked great after two hrs. of watching how they walked..so, left them off. Sometimes I have to reboot again, but not this time. :)

See how this other foot is turning a bit, the left one was way
turned in, including the toe. The baby wouldn't walk far, just
plop down after walking on it for a bit, then try again. Same over
and over..so, on went the tape..with both chicks since the other
one was doing the same, and looking the same.
It was the ankle part of the foot that was turned in pretty good.
So I had to turn the whole foot and toe, then place it on the bottom
piece of the tape to get it straight, then placed the other on top.
Easy! Except for the wriggly chick!

The little one facing the camera with it's eyes open is one that
had the boot on the right foot. She is one of the fluffiest, and
sweet ones to come up to you. Think I'm keeping her. :D

How is everyone?
Do'in great, but I do the multi quote then have to go do things, and 5 hours later, my multi quotes are gone, LOL. No time to go back but I loved the HRIR, was it? And everything else! RE hatcheries, I decided I wanted some Sultans but couldn't find anyone selling eggs at the time. So I bought from the hatchery and then decided to get a few Crevies as well. I know they're not perfect but they didn't end up looking out of sorts. They actually ended up quite nice (though they're still young) and until I started feeding them fermented feed, they were quite pretty! (now they're so messy!!!)

Anyway, my point being that not all hatchery stock is that ugly (though those silkies do tend to look blah!) I plan on taking the best of what I got, even if it's only one roo and one hen and seeing what they might make together.

Congrats to all the winners!! And keep those peepers pics coming!! Such beautiful chicks!!!

CELTIC I so want to see ducks and goslings!!!!
