4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

The incubator (which seems to be falling a part) will be available upcoming thursday or friday......depending on the hatch of the so much wanted Welsummer chicks....can't wait for the new hatch to come a long...

I would love to get some testing done, just to be sure I'm ok, but we don't have a state poultry vet here!

I don't think we have one either. LSU will do testing, but they charge a $60 exam fee and charge for each test individually. Test costs begin at about $50 each. Very expensive. I hope someone knows an alternative...maybe a mail-in testing center?

Sorry i havent posted in a while. I have to read 500 posts. wanna help filling me in?

I really am not sure how much u missed, but some highlights are:

Get your incubator clean NOW, start checking temps.

Corzya in your flock = it's probably simpler to just cull everyone and then MOVE.

Sheishanam has the most awesome goat shelter/chicken tractor base ever! I may just build one.

Time for a little fun.

Guess how many eggs will be set by the participants for the NYD Hatch without going over. Please Please Please only fill the form out once. If you fill it out more than once, the first time is all that will count.

I gotta go back and see that! Thanks for the update, even if it wasn't for me in particular!
