Ive never been in the NYD hatch before. Just to be clear, I set my eggs tomorrow. Take picture of eggs with a clock in the picture as proof. I then post the picture on the main page. After, I enter contest, post, talk with other egg setters etc. until hatch day. I then take pictures of the chicks as they hatch (again with clock) and post pictures again????

Oh good! I thought the rules had changed! :) Okay, so just for first chick then!

And I can set my eggs that arrive tomorrow after noon?

Okay, I'm going to give up on trying to catch up on the last 1400 posts. It's too close to set time, so I'll just jump in here. I was reading many pages every time I had a chance, but you guys just won't stop chatting. Last year it wasn't so bad, the NYD thread was the only one I followed, now there are too many. At least my DH knows where to find me!

And fortunately, I only have four eggs left in lockdown (or very close) and only one other incubator running, so lots of room for tomorrow (after I clean up from the 50ish chicks that hatched in the last few days).

WELL! Now that you mention it....the whole system I am using right now is a complex working of micro processors and programming that should yield a product for people with home made incubators or even nice incubators but failed or lacking temp/humidity sensors. This is test run # 1 and test run #2 will be the hatch along! It will tell you temp, humidity in real time, allow you to set the range for both. It will also send you alerts when you go outside that safe range (email and working on text), and will run up to 4 incubators at the same time. I am also going to see about integrating oxygen sensors and a movement detection sensor to alert you to when your eggs might begin to hatch. If all goes well I will be employing kickstarter to begin taking orders for beta models to go out to a select few customers. WE SHALL SEE!!!

Thankfully the pieces of the puzzle are relatively affordable. And the price to produce goes down the more you make in volume. So the finished product (minus oxygen and movement sensors) *might* run you anywhere from $100-250 depending on the production/materials costs and how many orders I can get. I will keep you in mind as a beta tester though
