I don't believe Green Fire has ever imported Icelandic Chickens. Perhaps you are confusing them with the Swedish Flower Hens Green Fire has imported.I think Green Fire imported two lines. The first line had less crested chickens because the person they got them from selected ones without a crest. The second importation had Crests. That might explain why the ones in the video don't look as good. It might be because we have better breeders here...
There is also a social thread started by Stella the Icelandic.

Okay, because I know you are swamped with this hatchalong, I'll wait until after the New Year for a picture.........but I will be waiting!!Mary (Notafarm)
I have a mottled Icelandic from Dreki and Kella.:![]()
Your Icelandic is indeed lovely!
How interesting. You should also get him an Icelandic Sheepdog, I happen to know of a breeding that just took place. The female is working on a sheep farm in Canada, would fit in nicely on your farm.Your Icelandic is indeed lovely!
And from everything I've read they are going to be great (I'm on a waiting list for May 2013 chicks , but maybe will find eggs sooner??)
But the reason I MUST have a flock is to go with MY Icelandic
The Braids are Traditional Norse Wedding Braids which only I as wife can touch, & he didn't leave our land w/o them for the first 7 yrs of our being married.
(then his hair got thin so we keep them in a box and his head is bald now) But really, I think he needs some Icelandic hens to hang out with asap : )
What do you think? votes on we NEED Icelandic chickens for him?? (& a cute brown duck for of course
FeyRaine, DW to an actual Viking (& no, I'm short w/ dark hair, thats why *I* get the call duck...)
