I have eggs that have shipped out to me. If they get here by Friday do I change my total eggs set for the hatch, or just leave them out?
Go ahead and add them.

Sorry for the loss of you dog. The poodle idea sounds interesting, My wife can feel your pain, her husband (that's me) can get ideas stuck in his head too.Wow, wish we could.
We lost one of our dogs the week b/f my bday , end of Oct. He was a PitBull x Great Pyrenees (long story that one) great w/ the goats actually.
The DH is wanting a pure breed standard sized Choc. Poodle, which he intends to keep poodle cut w/ a small part of top dyed Raspberry , he intends to name said dog "Truffle"
(he is not even joking about this, he has raspberry crocks and a handmade gift from friend raspberry beret which led, in part, to this concept).
We still have 2 lg. dogs atm, but the really really excellent Farm Dog, Dew (that is short for Mildew btw, another long story...) is no Spring Chicken of a dog sad to say.
Dew's replacement in training is entirely lovable but unfortunately NOT the farm dog Dew is (ie not free range safe).
I will tell DH of the Icelandic Sheepdogs, perhaps he can be persuaded, (besides Choc. Poodles named Truffle, he also wishes for a Mastiff...)

I have them too, but they haven't started laying again after their molt. I would like to get lights to their coop, but it is too far from electricity. I've tried 2 sets of solar Christmas lights and both last 3 days each (made in China of course)Icelandics? Talk to Mary or me.
What beautiful mottling on your one Roo! I think Icelandic Roosters are as beautiful as they comeMissed 227 post in a day, jeezd louise no time to catch up skipped to the end and the chit chat is about icelandics!!
Here are a couple pic's of my icelandic's i have 8 of there eggs in the incubator for the hatch-a-long

my white hen in the background
none of mine are crested.
That's a nice flock. Do you free range? They tend to find unusual places to lay. Ours tend to lay up in the hay mow, or under a hay feeder.
Working on free ranging. We can't at this moment because the neighbor dogs are always at our house and I just don't trust them. I just got them this Fall and am hoping to set up a very large run for them in the Spring. Right now they are wintering in a 8x10 coop for the 5 of them. That's a nice flock. Do you free range? I can imagine them trying to run past you. Ours have taken to roosting in the feed side of our buck barn, when I open the door in the morning the little viking horde just rushes out.Working on free ranging. *I do know that they are a bugger to catch if they get out (and they try to bypass me to the door every day).
