I hope this is where we post the pics for the celebrity look a like contest. All the new threads this year for the contests is really confusing.
This is my serama Angel, who I am entering as a Lady Gaga lookalike.

I set 8 BCM eggs on the 11th... But didn't get my cochin eggs until the 12thso I guess I am just hatching the BCM for the contest, but I am feeling good about the coćins hatching on 1/1

Of course they count! You just had to set after 12/11 at noon your time and before... Friday? I think?? Or else it's tonight midnight?

Afternoon all - day 2! Snowy Thursday here ... I feel like vegging on the couch with a hot chocolate and playing on BYC, but I can't cause I have to work to support my 'habits' ...

Here is a snap of our coops ... forecast gives a heavy snowfall warning for the next 3 days. Hubby better get that snowblower working! Layer coop on the left, silkie/polish on the right.

I can't imagine anything more enchanting! How beautiful that looks! I'm so jealous!

Just a note, all eggs need to be set by 19:00 (that's 7 pm) local time on 14 December 2012 to be counted as part of the NYD hatch.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm hoping for a nice Americauna roo out of the eggs I got from MrHeinz!! I'm also kind of hoping that one of my own little mixes is a roo...

He looks like a little cockerel.

We have three PIPS now!! I moved momma chicken to a larger cage, and put fresh bedding down. She was upset for a bit and kept moving her nest of eggs around the cage, but finally settled down in a corner. Pictures to come...

I've got my paltry batch of eggs set, and after hundreds in previous years, it feels quite odd to be only cooking a small batch but really, I've got hundreds of chicks, and I need a break for a bit, so I just put in the important ones.

I'm glad the contests I usually run are in the line-up! I get to enter this year!!

I am amazed at how many folks are participating, or even just following along. This is a great way to learn about hatching and get your feet wet, and we're always happy to share what we know.

I've caught up for now, but I'm sure hundreds of posts will greet me when I get back...off to the farm now!!

Renee I am so glad to see you are in. I had nothing that was laying so I bought some fertile eating eggs from Barney's. I think last year I had something like 150 set....

Wow 111 post sonce i was on here a few hrs ago.
Well i finally got around to candling my pekin eggs i set the 4th for the NYDH.
I want to cry.

They have all died. This anit fair. I guess that temp spike killed them.Out of the 8 chicken eggs i set for a christmas day hatch looks liike maybe 3 may still be alive. Its not fair waaaaaa! I know im being a cry baby but cant help it.
Hope my bator dont spike again and kill all my chicken eggs for NYDH. If that happens im gonna throw away my bator and never hatch again.

Maybe you'll have better luck with the chickens. What kind of incubator are you using?

Here are my silkie eggs that I set on 12/11 at 5:00 PM PST..(I was at work at 12:00)

The eggs were purchased and shipped to me from Catdance Silkes. They all arrived intact and were beautifully wrapped. This is my first time incubating shipped eggs so not sure what to expect but I am
hoping for a great hatch %.

Make sure to post your picture over on the picture thread too. I also have 24 Catdance SIlkie eggs set for the hatchalong.
