ooh almost forgot the French White muscovy..... veal like meat from them, our girls are STILL laying as of this morning too

I really would like some muscovy. Not to keep, just to raise for meat birds. I don't like processing myself though, so I'm trying to find an alternative first. Closest place I've found that processes poultry is a few hours away, so I'm still looking.

Well, I've been trying to keep up with the posts today, but I fell behind. The switch board on the hot water heater went out some time last night and we didn't find out what the burning plastic smell was until this morning. I've been trying to help as much as they would let me, but that isn't much. Dad plans to fix it until we can get a new one, but I have the feeling it's going to fry again before that happens.

The girls are picking up with their laying, which works out well since my mom likes to sell them around holidays to some of her coworkers.

All is well with the incubator. It's holding steady and not spiking any. Still no need to add water since we still have really high humidity at this time of year. It rained before the hatch started, so that adds to it. I'm so excited and I can't wait till I can candle my serama eggs!

same here lol but ill be setting all month long too

Same here. Us crazies and our winter hatches! I'm debating on how many more leghorn I want to hatch out though. I really should get rid of my older hens (which is ALL of them except one) but I wanted to introduce some new blood too, and possibly get the browns. Ah well. I have one leghorn chick sleeping in the brooder beside me, plus about six more eggs in the incubator from the leghorns.
