4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Don't give up on them. I won't toss anything out until at least after 7 days, if they're still clear. I had a serama that was clear while the others were well veined and there were obvious pink blobs. The next candling I found veining and a nice pink blob in that clear egg. :)

Has anyone heard when we will know the winners of contest 1 & 2. Also is there going to be 2 contests for #1 since one submission ended before the quail eggs were set?

Any one know?

LOL naw, i just have a need to try to max out my bator :lau

With a bator that hold between 500-600 eggs we don't say that Any more.

Pekins are commonly kept for meat because of the white feathers making a clean pluck. They dont lay as well as the SA do, and the SA give a nice table bird.

What about ruen/scovie crosses? I thought they were supposed to be the new thing I meat birds.

Still in shock about Connecticut.

No, I wasn't clear. The pictures submitted had to be in by midnight. And quail weren't done until today, in fact people were still adding chicken eggs today, and so how would their eggs be counted toward the total number set?

See?

Honestly, I don't know. Button quail aren't supposed to go in until Sunday, so that doesn't make any sense to me at all, if they cut off submissions. I thought that was just for the chicken eggs. :/

Last year, it was "total number reported set as of". There's no way to have a true number, some people never report at all.

I just see it as a fun guessing contest....................how many jelly beans in the jar..........................or as they always did at fair...................rabbit droppings.
