my first thought was buff Orpington ducks but the blue is odd...maybe they are a mix?

Well they look like Buffs except the males don't have the blue on their tail tops.. they should have blue heads... Maybe they were mixed with some other kind.

With all the dog bathing I do (4 large dogs) I paid a plumber to run lines through the wall from the laundry room. I now have a dog bathing station (hot and cold) outside the back door to make things simple. We are in the process of building a deck there, so no mud either

. I had them install a showerhead too, now I can hose down DH if he is too bad

I candled my eggs last night and pulled the clears (I set a lot of first time layer pullet eggs). Out of the 42 set, I have 32, possibly 34 (dark brown) developing.

So I'm pretty happy with their numbers.

Even without the blue tails on the drakes? That would be great if they're purebred.

likely from a hatchery and there are variances in them. We had a set from Metzers and one drake looked like those the other was more to standard.
