CelticOaksFarm shared a picture of his Brooder under construction for Aspen AKA Mrs. Fluffy puffy.

COF also has raised shelters for the Ducks! Aspen shared that she has Serama eggs developing!

No SleepyOwl it is not likely you! Those chicks just did not have the energy to make it! (post 4922)

And FeyRaine, take something and relax! Your hatch will be fine! FarmerChef still has development in the double yolker!

Post 4972 has a candling video! Then Seah said: "Just wanted to pop my head up into the sunshine for a bit."(was that about Sally Sunshine?)

Sally embedded the Muppet video in post 4974 Sahwithchicks has a sick child! He is being comforted by a Toddler! Also, BCM Roos play with Toddler toys!

The Postman brought Jessiey a package of Hatching eggs on Sunday!

The trampoline spring did not send her to the hospital! She was spurred but the chicken did not have spurs! Hopefully more days will be this good too

Forgive my not quoting (slow dial-up) yay Hurley on the new door, that's an impressive piece of workmanship! Yay Brechin on the chickie orthopedic shoes! Sally S, I love those Snowman package piles!
In Oct, nearly my entire flock was killed by a neighborhood dog, 2 roos and a teenage mutt pullet survived. The teenager has never returned to the coop and sleeps in an oak tree. Friends generously gave me some pullets so the roos each have a small flock. Today has been windy and pouring cats and dogs, but when I went to close up the coops, the teenager was in the coop! Woot! I hope she will continue to stay with the other birds, I've worried when she's been in that tree and the temps are down to freezing.

Lord of the Ring + commercials = a very, very, very long movie and a really bad headache. Or maybe I'm just so tired. I'm getting off for a bit. I'll get back on later and catch up.

& relaxing , humm, guess I'll need to work on that somemore...

actually, I feel lots better since we made the diy chicken feeder, kinda overcame the cabin fever.
so I think I'll leave the eggs alone & not even candle the questionable ones tonight, deal?

I agree, that looks great. I've dealt with many curled toes..splayed legs..I like to use electrical tape. It's pretty stiff, comes off pretty easy. I bet your chicks feet will look great in a few days. Nice job!

Holy cow. I have spent the day on the couch, with tylenol and Tussin DM on the coffee table in front of me. I woke up a few times, checked here once (now twice) and boy am I miserable! I woke up with my lungs on fire, my head felt like someone shot me, my neck stiff as sin and my hips hurt so badly that it felt like someone had crushed my pelvis. My parents took the boys after the family xmas party, so we had a night off and could spend the morning wrapping presents without nosey kids, so much for that! I vaguely remember mom arriving, G telling her that I was not feeling well, her saying "that's what you call a hangover" and him saying "she didn't drink" and that's it. G took care of the kitters, the birds, the boys and is now at the store buying me more Tussin DM, while I slept the entire day away. What a waste of a perfectly good day!

Holy bad hatch rate batman! I knew with tj eggs great incubator omelette experiment, quail that were babies with roos not quite sure what to do and shipped eggs it wasn't going to be good, but I did a candling today and got 19 quail 19 chicken left. Out of a hair under 200. One entire set of 5 dz tjs eggs had zero development. So if you get tj eggs get them right off the dock and not after they have been in the cooler til 8 pm!
Other then that we have been staying home a lot dh still sick so we are missing the family stuff and it is pouring buckles out there. Its madness out there I'm glad I'm not driving. Kisses to all of you.

Sorry to hear that chiquita. Did any of the ones I sent you make it?

Many of the new ones are good and not in that count. I don't think any of the first ones made it. That was such a wonderful surprise! Ty again I was blesses this year with my as and swap partners.
