Thank you!! The OEGB are yours too! Only 2 made it past candling but boy are they cute. I plan on moving them to the brooder in the morning and I will take some pictures. You're welcome! I think it's funny, all 6 that I shipped to you hatched & only 2 of the 6 I set myself hatched. I lost both of mine within 24 hours trying to move them to my new house an hour & a half away. The male for at least 1/2 of those eggs is a jumbo, so babies may end up being a bit on the big side for a Coturnix. Not a bad thing though. Just don't be surprised if some of them end up being a good bit bigger than the others. I need pix of the OEGB too if those were mine as well.![]()
Oh man. I moved out to a 52 acre farm in the middle of nowhere 3 months ago, we rented a long trailer and kept the chickens and turkeys in the coops (4 of them then), it was an hour and a half trip too, I thought for sure we would give them all heart attacks! The poor turkeys were pale like ghosts when they arrived. The baby chicks rode in the cats carriers. It was a nightmare moving!
These are my first quail, I really like these guys no matter what size and wow are they FAST! they all remind me of chipmunks so i named them all Alvin. I have no idea who is who anyway!
Do you release yours at some point? I was reading most people raise them to release them and then to hunt them. I was thinking of just keeping them for myself, is that wrong? Would you build them a coop or with 6 just keep them inside or try adding them to a small flock of chickens outside?
