Hey for those of you that have pyrs, would you recommending adopting one? There is a guy on CL with a 7 year old that is supposedly good with chickens. Is a yard enough or do they need long daily walks? We do about 20 min a day walk now for our little 7 lb terrier mutt. The Pyr at 140 lbs would make about 20 of him. I am not a experienced dog person so I'm a little hesitant about adopting a big dog, but id LOVE a dog that would chase predators.

they make good guard dogs

Eek!! Lockdown today? I'm gonna be two and 1/2 hours behind everyone else! I'd better go turn on the other incubator and move the eggs that aren't due until after the NYD Hatch. Be back later.....

Woohoo! Locked Down!!!

I'm cuirrently wrestling with humidity, since I've never used this Brinsea before. I've got it up to 35 with sponges, but just remembered (dur) that I'm supposed to close the vent a bit (not all the way).

We'll see if that gets us up the rest of the way

I have a breeding pair and one of their daughters. I love this breed of dog. Mine are so gentle. I have cats that cuddle up on them. They do need exercise and a job to keep them happy. I am sure one would be happy to take a walk as long as it has been lease broken as I think it would be lots of work with a seven year old 140 lb dog to train him now.

My only suggestion is to make sure you know why they are getting rid of the dog before you get him because Pyrenees are head strong and if he has not been trained they can be a hand full. Some do tend to roam also.

PM me if you have any other questions and I will be glad to try to answer them.
