4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Oh no! It does take a while for the eggs to warm up that much though, maybe they're ok. I haven't seen my eggs rock yet (though it coulda happened while I wasn't looking?) Really hope they're all ok!

Ty, I figure best to be hopeful rather than feel doomed so early in the lockdown lol. You knowo I often wonder how much movement really goes on that we dont notice. I bet some of them are shy and they know when to move so we dont notice lol its a conspiracy of inner shell peeps haha. Hope you get to see some of yours rock-n-rollin soon

your way!!!

mine are pipping early too apparently.  I thought I had the temp pretty right-on, but they are Seramas, and they're known to pip early...  I dunno

Thanks for the info, such a simple design, and safe around the pets, etc... I really like it, though drowning may not be the nicest way to go, if ya got a problem with them there mice, and you want to keep your pets and livestock safe, that looks like the way to go!  Great idea!  Thanks again!

My dad drowned when he was a little boy.(12) They of course saved him got him to breathing again. Today hes 64.He says if he could choose any way to die it would be to drown. He swears it not painful. He said it was a warm feeling when his lungs filled with water. It only hurt when they brought him back. And he started coughing all the water out of his lungs. I dont know.

Well... 13 in lockdown, started with 48, but at least I know my young cockerels aren't quite up to the task yet, that and it may have been too cold for shipping eggs=)

I feel like cursing like a sailor! How did this happen? I have a pip on the bottom of the egg! What do I do now?

It will never hatch by itself if it pips in the small end. You will have to help it out, but that is risky.

Look for a guide and good luck!

Didn't have many to begin with, only 9 = 2 Marans 7 Polish and today for lockdown I took out 2 Polish that had stopped developing. I heard chirping in a Marans egg and knowing my typical Polish hatches they take a little longer than the 21 days so.. New Years may not be it for them anyway
