Loosing E just surprised me, b/c they all seamed equally strong etc. just 20 mins prior, & then finding it had absorbed the yolk etc & should have been good to go just made it more confusing, we all decide it looked "not done yet" at 7:30, at 9 it was going strong breathing & a few good peeps, at 9:20 dead - if there had been a big yolk or a broken vein I'd have understood, it just seams random ...?! Of course it could have had an internal injury from the fall, really I assumed it killed them all so why at this point would I be surprised by anything.

Egg W is the Love-child egg from the story, still alive 25 min ago, the one not even trying to get out of the half shell/ wet towel tent.(which maybe is good, save up strength awhile longer). But it did open its eye for the first time when I changed it's wet towel about 90 mins ago, so we can hope

Also, I hope I'm not over-posting, I'm sure not everyone cares about each little event in my bator, but I'm hoping that giving details might help others in some way, esp. if they are having anything similar, which I wouldn't wish on anyone, but stuff happens.

Meanwhile no action on L , but just that I heard it peep for the first time around 8 pm Eastern is, all things considered, rather fantastic!

I think you'd probably be a bit surprised by the amount of people who DO care.

Ok Thanks, I just didn't want to be annoying b/c I have been posting a ton of updates.

The one that I lost E was mainly all dark, was from a light tan shell so Orp or Ameraucana, w/ Maran Roo

Same Roo for Egg B, poss same hen.

Egg W being my only own egg, the Love-child one

ok gotta check again, I've left them for an hr, need to peek, (changing towels at 2 hr intervolts for 11 hrs now, but checking more often visually)

Good Night All! I had to run out to my building for chick starter so I checked on the hatcher and there are two new ducklings out! That makes 10 = D Finger's crossed that I find all the remaing eggs hatched in the a.m.

Funny, I'm on my phone talking to a bunch of chicken addicts on byc, and the ad pops up for 'addiction rehab'
But I don't wanna have rehab, I like my crazy addiction >.<

Oh geez, and ain't that the truth!

Just lost the little one I thought was so strong... And one started to really slow down its breathing so I took it into the steamed up bathroom to try to,give it more room to breath, but it was too late... I put it back in the incubator because I could still feel the faintest heartbeat, but I can't get it to breathe.... So now I've lost 7, going on 8... I hate this part...
I have to go back to work tomorrow, so I REALLY need to sleep, but I don't want to leave them... There are still 7 chicks in the bator, struggling to hold on... Not that it makes a difference if I help them.... They're dying anyway.

You can only do what you can do TMNfarm. Chin up ... it's sad to lose them, but just think what you have in those that survive - life! Life that you helped create that will be a joy to you for their lifetime!

Does anyone know where we are supposed to post what we had hatch? I can't find a link to the spreadsheet to put my 1 lonely little hatchling

No, and I've asked several times. I'd also like to know when the hatch deadline for recording is. Does it only include NYD (the 21 day mark) or ?? No one seems to know.
