I love #8!

This is my first year having chickens and even though I didn't participate in the NYD hatch-along, I kept up with all the postings and want to congratulate everyone on their precious new chick's and send my condolences to those who lost little ones or had poor hatches. I feel that I learned a great deal with all the informative postings and will be ready to join you all for the Easter Hatch-Along.

Be Patient on the winners. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes here. BYC took over a bunch of the contests, so the hosts here cannot do anything with those. Also, some contests started here and were taken over so some information was lost.

Hope to hear soon though.

in that case I reported wrong. I said hatched 2 even though they didn't make it. can I change it?

Submitted, seemed to work fine.  I put I hatched 7 since that's how many made it out of the incubator.  Had 2 others hatch, but didn't make it, so didn't claim 9 hatched. I'm assuming that's how we're supposed to report.

Next batch is hatching away in the hatcher. Last I checked there was only about 6 eggs left that haddent hatched (2am this morning) My first 2 fertile turkey eggs and my first fertile duck egg go into lockdown today

I think I'll finally be able to input my final hatch numbers by the end of today. So far it was 11 coturnix, 1 pekin, 2 chickens?

EXCELENT ADVICE MATT!

I don't know what in the world is going on..I was feeling really lousy last night...I had pretty much given up on the remaining eggs and was pleased to have the 2nd egg hatch 24 hours after the first. I went to bed and thought I would wake and they would both be dry. To my surprise tonight I opened the closet and peered into the incubator..It is full of chicks and the remaining eggs are zipping right now as I type this note!!!


So a word of advice to the late hatcher...Don't fret...don't obsess...toss the incubator in the closet and don't even worry about it....Once stopped staring at the darn thing the eggs decided to hatch!!!

Sally this would be good to keep.You have so many links to good articlrs wish You could compile them alphabetically and learning center put them up rather than liinks to forums where anyone is giving their opinion on a subject

You have to get a Moderator to fix it for you.
