Wow the threads died down a lot. Its a good thing cuz my computer broke and I have to access from my phone. I'm starting my ff tomorrow. .super excited!

Well, I just want to show off my NYD chicks which will be 2 weeks old tomorrow (as they hatched 2 days early) My frizzle and smooth Serama pair that are really cute and sweet!

I wonder if I can add rasins to the feed for the big birds? Or would that mess up the process? same thing with Molasas and stuff!
I would think you could add what ever you wanted.
For a 55 gallon drum remember you have to stir it, so don't fill it too full of dry feed.
I would add a cup of UPACV to 1/4 container of dry feed in that 55 gallon container. By the time you add water you will be half full.

I tell people who are just starting..... to start with just the mash until they get the hang of it.
Give yourself a week of feeding and replacing till you have it going well.

Than add stuff like wheat, raisins, garlic, what ever. Worried about worms toss in pumpkin seeds, need extra fat, toss in BOSS, birds need a little boost toss in Oregano. Etc..

Aww, didn't see my name on anything, and I was told I won a cookbook..when we did that crazy reach a certain amount of posts thing..thinking that wasn't a contest from the beginning, but someone just started it?

Do you mean Butter? If so she is good , she can get around on her own but walks with a limp and if she gains to much more weight lol I may have to try to build her a new mobile as her limp has gotten a little worse as she fills out more . She is about 5 months old I think I would have to go hunt down her thread to know for sure lol.


If not IM not sure what you mean , THe quail . She is sleeping in a box next to my bed and seems ok but a little restless . I dont think she likes being alone.

Butter has gotten BIG!!! When you 1st started posting about her I swore she wouldn't make it but look at her now!!! She's truly the miracle baby.

I've been adding left over dog food (we sold our dog earlier this week) to my fermented chicken & duck feed. I figure they eat it without being fermented, so why not add it to the mix. The only birds not getting fermented feed right now are the quail & that's only because I ran out of buckets & they get a different mix than the chickens & ducks.
