My Fourth of July eggs finally broke out, or are finish now.

Here is duckling one which is a hen finally.

The other one is almost done zippering.

They will need theme names.

This was waiting for me when I got hom

I need all the luck I can get.
My last few batches have been not so good.

Hopefully I get a few handfuls of babies this time.

e. She is from one of the two green roadside “fridge eggs”. I have no idea what mix of breeds she might be. Easter Egger of some sort and ???? Hope she is a she, and that she’ll give us green eggs someday. She is a cutie.

One more green egg, and 5 Serama eggs, to go.

Awesome pictures - Congratulations! I have a question, can you tell me what roadside "fridge eggs" means? I'm guessing the "12 Serama eggs" were sourced from a roadside vendor, yes/no? Thank you.

Not sure if this is the "July" hatch along or if we are still working the June and July thread.. I've finished up the June and getting ready to set 12 Ameraucana eggs this evening. so we shall see.

Yep this is July Hatch-A-Long. I am winding up my July hatch today - unfortunately this hatch was very disappointing - two and half weeks into the incubation cycle I experienced a six hour power outage - being so hot in southwest Mississippi I was still hoping for those little guys & gals to make. One 'Black Star' did hatch and is doing very well - the other 19 not so much. The good news is I get another July hatch because one of my 'Plymouth Rocks' is setting on a clutch of 21 eggs. Pending hatch date is July 29.

@Feathers4Fun2 , sorry to hear about that first hatch, glad that you've gotten the one and good luck with your broody.. I've got 12 in the incubator that I am hand turning, I did a hatch last month that I've gotten 8 left, had 11 and three have died for some reason.

@Feathers4Fun2 We bought a dozen eggs from someone in town who had put out their extra eggs for sale roadside. We ate most of the eggs. I decided to pull a few of the green ones from the fridge to incubate “just for fun” . 2 were fertilized/developed, and one hatched. This is the cutie that popped out. We named it... Roadside lol.

Almost done, Broody mom hatched out 3 these I’ve the last 2 days, she squished one, and the last two eggs she left pipped in the nest... my grand daughter pointed out she had eggs and I was going to remove the quitters, until I heard peeps!

Mad rush to see start the incubator and get them inside, as the eggs felt cold but they were peeping strong...

Turns out there was no attempt to zip, just a large hole in each egg where they pipped...beaks visible...I get to looking and candle and both baby’s are shrink wrapped!!

I carefully started removing dry shell, and didn’t touch the membrane...one shell even had hay down inside between the shell and membrane!!

Trying to keep the humidity as high as possible, have them wrapped in damp paper towels...going to give them a couple of hours and check again...
