Hi everyone! Let’s celebrate Independence Day with a hatch along! These eggs have been put in the incubators in staggered intervals, so they are set to hatch from July 2nd-July 8th.

I was so blessed to win the BYC cutest chick photography contest a few weeks ago, and my prize was an incredible Brinsea Maxi 24EX Connect. I hadn’t been planning to set more eggs this summer, but I am dying to try out the new incubator!!

I also had one of my most prized pullets pass away last week. She wasn’t yet laying 😥 but when I lose a bird, it does make me want to set eggs even more. So I have set almost everything laid since then. Including some pullet eggs to see how they do, as an experiment. So there is a lot going on with a new incubator and new layers.

I have an overflow incubator for all the eggs that wouldn’t fit in the Brinsea Maxi 24EX Connect.

Please let me know if you would like an egg or a few to root for! Since the hatch will occur around July 4th, pick any name having to do with America! 🇺🇸 (please no politics!) Some ideas are: State Names, Freedom, Constitution, National favorites, red white & blue, patriotic songs, etc. There are tons of eggs!

I will have a list of eggs below and will update it with the eggs that are chosen!

The eggs were set in their number order so the lower numbers will hatch first. I have pulled non developers out of the lower numbers but the higher numbers I have not pulled any yet, I will update them as I candle.

These eggs have lavender silkie roos as their fathers. So the eggs from silkies will be purebred. The blue eggs will be 3/4+ silkie. I will write the breed of the mom next to the egg. If it says F1, that means a first gen cross of silkie/ameraucana bantam. All eggs are blue/green unless they say silkie, or tan next to them!
