4yr old hen growing spurs

My hen acts like a rooster sometimes, she spurs the window at her reflection, and does the mating dance to my other hen. She also does treat calling. Now she is growing tiny spurs! Does anyone else have a hen like this or know anything about hens like this? Thanks!!

Some hens grow spurs as they age. Others develop reproductive tract tumors that alter hormone levels and make them appear 'rooster like' physically and tempermentally.

The hormone shift isn't necessarily due to a fatal disease, tho it's possible.
What breed is she?
4 can be 'old' for some birds....ya just never know with live animals

I've had a hen crow and act a bit like a cockbird during winter molt,
she stopped all that when she resumed laying.
Have also had hens with fairly large spurs that never acted like a cockbird.

Well She hasn't crowed yet lol. I hope she's OK, she is more like a pet then anything. She's a new Hampshire red hen. Do those breeds live long?

One of our best broodies, 5 yr old buckeye, Patty, has grown spurs over the last few years. She still raises at least 2 clutches a year.... and NO ONE dares mess with her!

Omg no my hens is no where near like that! I had no idea they could do that!!! That's amazing!!!!
