4yr old hen growing spurs

“Mutter” is a rescue hen and she got spurs too. I don’t know how old she is but she’s definitely past henopause. Of course she’s in charge too :)
 
When hens get older they could be getting closer to the end or their laying careers. Their estrogen levels drop and there’s nothing to keep the testosterone levels in check.
If the left ovary has damage (or worn out) it happens.
Kinda like me looking forward to growing chin hairs!!!:oops:
Poor hens lol yes I know what you mean. I have that to look forward too
