Have you ever trimmed these, they look like they could be butt pokers?One of our best broodies, 5 yr old buckeye, Patty, has grown spurs over the last few years. She still raises at least 2 clutches a year.... and NO ONE dares mess with her!

Poor hens lol yes I know what you mean. I have that to look forward tooWhen hens get older they could be getting closer to the end or their laying careers. Their estrogen levels drop and there’s nothing to keep the testosterone levels in check.
If the left ovary has damage (or worn out) it happens.
