This will be the first night that they are in the coop, and I am worried that they will get cold. The low is 60 degrees. They have been staying in the tack room without the heat lamp for the past few days. I just checked on them and they were in a huge pile sleeping. Should I go get them or suck it up and let them stay out? It's so hard being a mama!

They'll be fine. I take away heat on chicks anywhere between 6-8 weeks and day high's are lucky to reach 50.

Since it is their first night in the coop though, and they don't like change, might want to have a small light so they can see and not pile up scared.

My Silkies are 4 and 5 weeks old they have been without heat lamp for 3 days now and go outside during the day but come night time they all pile up right by the run door waiting on me to bring them in. I just finished my coop and run but wanted to test my electric fence out for maybe a week before they actually went in for the night. I enjoy having them inside with me and miss their chirping when they are outside anyway. I know how you feel I am dreading the day when I have to practice tough love.
I am sure it will get easier with time.

They survived the night! Thank you for the advice. I only checked on them once in the middle of the night!!
