I was curious about something. I incubated 5 duck eggs and all 5 hatched out as males, is that normal? Am I wrong on gender? It seems odd.

x2It’s simply odds. Each egg has a 50% chance of being male and a 50% chance of being female. If you hatch 2 eggs and the first is male, that means absolutely nothing to the second egg. It has a 50% chance of being male or a 50% chance of being female. What other eggs hatch as will have no effect on the sex of the next egg to hatch.
The odds of you getting five males out of five eggs that hatch is 1 in 32. There is also a 1 in 32 chance that you will get all females.
I once got 7 females out of 7 hatched eggs. The odds of that happening are 1 in 108. Not likely but stuff happens.
