I got my first batch of chickens and raised them from the egg. 5/6 turned out to be roo's. They are 4 or so months old. One roo has new home. Two more soon to go to farm. That leaves me with 2 cockerels and one small pullet... Not a great situation. What is your advice? I'm attempting to keep both roo's as they are so far the friendliest of the bunch and get along. No mating yet. How many hens do I need to acquire to keep the peace (the very minimum, my coop is the large snaplock it can't hold like 20 comfortably) and should I get chicks or age-matching?

Thanks everyone who comments!

You would need a lot of hens to keep two boys happy.
They aren't mature YET...so they may still be nice.
They won't be for very long.
One rooster per every 10 - 12 girls.

What is the size, in feet, of your coop?

close to 3.5 by 5, 3.5 high
That will hold no more than 3.
3 x 5 = 15 square feet.
Chickens ned at least 4 square feet PER bird.

Get rid of both roosters and get two new girls.
So you can have a flock of three.

yes it absolutely is. My intention was to hold six and they are only in there at night, but now I am worried theres no way to keep two roo's in there...
I wouldn't keep two boys in there...no way.

I was hoping since they were raised together they may do better. First flock tho not sure.
Wait til their hormones kick in, you will see what I am talking about.
