I posted earlier, our gosling’s were stuck in the US mail. Shipped on Monday and only arrived this morning. Their grow gel was totally gone and best pack no longer warm. I have tried everything - electrolyte water, water with sugar, she seemed to do better for a while around 10am but as the day has gone by she’s just become weaker. Very sleepy. The other gosling has started eating crumble mix with water and is walking around ok. This one’s not walking at all, stands but sits back on its behind. Very lethargic. Any suggestions to help us get her through the night? How can I get her to eat? That’s got to the key to her making it through the night? I keep waking her up to make her take some fluids but she’s so exhausted 😕😭

If you would like to give them an energy boost, feed them scrambled eggs, but not excessively. To drink you can give them water with honey, or if you don't have honey, unflavored Gatorade works well. If you have a syringe used to give children medicine (a round-ended one), make her food into mush and give it to her like that.

Thank you so much for answering. I tried scrambled eggs, but she refuses to eat anything at all. I like your idea of making a very thin mush of the crumble and using a syringe, I will give that a try. I can force the liquids in her but I know that if she doesn’t start eating she’s not going to make it. I wish I knew how much rust to give her versus how much fluids to keep Irving her. It’s the uncertainty that sucks. This has been a really sad day.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time and that your gosling is, too. If you do decide do use the syringe, make sure to not force too much food at once- give the gosling time to eat, if it wants to. Good luck and keep us updated.
