5 hens broody!!!! help!

Ok, I need some good advice on what , if anything, there is to do to stop a hen from being broody! We now have 5 of them doing this!!

if I make them go outside with the others can this help to break the cycle??

One of my hens went broody and actually hatched a chick, which later died but she still wanted to sit on the nest. I shushed her off the nest a couple of times and then finally had to block off that one nest with a board. She got the idea and stopped trying. I have heard of people putting ice cubes under them as a way of breaking really broody hens also. Good luck with 5 at one time.

Get some air under her butt. Any kind of wire cage...rabbit hutch or something similar for a week or so. Just shooing them outside won't always work. They'll go and eat or take a drink and them go find another spot to park their butts.

I refuse to feel sorry for someone with too many broody hens!
