Strange jerking and crop not completely emptying

Hi! I know this post was a few months ago, but im curious as too how your hens are doing! Just had one pass by an infection from an egg, and now thinking about it- she always had a full crop. So wondering how your guy's hens made it!?

I’m so sorry about your hen passing We treated our girl for sour crop and after that didn’t work, along with massages and oil not doing much, finally treated with antibiotics even though we weren’t sure she had an infection. It didn’t seem to have much of an effect, so then we put a birdy bra on her and that did the trick! We kept it on her for like a month even though it started helping empty her crop right away. We wanted to give her crop muscles time to recover and strengthen after being stretched for so long. She’s back to normal with no crop issue anymore. I definitely recommend a crop/birdy bra!

Aw glad to know your hen is alright! Thank you! Yes, she is in a better place now along with one of her sisters! If I have any problems with crops- I will definitely be checking that out!

I have a hen with a similar tumor-like thing in her abdomen, seen on an X-ray. We treated her for infection (hoping that's what it was but not sure) and she seems perfectly healthy now. Good luck with your hen!

Hello!! I currently can't remember the name of the antibiotic, I'm sorry, I'll message you if I figure it out. It was an oral liquid, and was prescribed by a veterinarian. We treated her for ten days
