5 month old pullet with no comb.

this young lady and her sister don't have very pronounced combs and they're 5 months old. Is this common? The lady I got them from said they were BR's crossed with another breed she wasn't sure of.

Your hen has a small rose comb, so it's perfectly normal.

That's normal. They just aren't fully matured yet. When they are ready to start laying, their combs will be big, glossy and red.

Barred Rocks don't have rose combs from what I know. What's your guess as to what they're mixed with to have rose combs?

It has the leg coloring of a BR pullet and the markings, I would say pullet for this age. Tho that comb seems to be pushing the beak right off the face.

So the mystery deepens as to what breed they are. One of the two laid this olive egg today. Did a little research and noted that EE's breed with BR's can make Olive Barred Rocks. Anyone have any experience with them?
