under a broody BR. I've not had much luck in this area before. My hatches have been with chickens, so I haven't worried too much. I have moved Mom and babies into a brooder where they can eat the high protein food. My dilemma is that I haven't seen Mom eat or drink. She moved her brood over by the food and water, but I haven't seen anybody eating or drinking. I checked on her this am. She stood up and poults came running out and into the food dish, but no one was pecking around. Should I just take her out and leave the poults under a heat lamp? Should I just trust her, since she's made it this far?
BTW, Mom was hatched by a chicken. Not sure if she was raised by one, though. I had 2 hatches last year. One hen stayed with the poults for a few weeks, the other did not.

Mom is up and around. We've had very warm days so I let her stay out of the brooder. She's doing well. I put her back in at night and she fluffs up and lets the little ones under her, including a solitary chick that hatched. I did lose one poult though. it wasn't moving around very well. Tried feeding it egg and yogurt and getting it to drink. It just wouldn't. It ran to be under Mom last night, so I thought it was just a little slower than the others. Well, this am I found it flattened under her. Poor thing. All in all, they are doing well.
